According to research by Wendy Wood, they account for as much as <strong data-start=\"453\" data-end=\"497\">4<\/strong><strong>3% of our daily actions<\/strong>\u00a0(<a href=\"https:\/\/www.researchgate.net\/publication\/298877551_Habits_in_everyday_life_Thought_emotion_and_action\" data-start=\"499\" data-end=\"619\">Wood et al., 2002<\/a>). Many of these habits contribute to our productivity, health, and well-being, such as brushing our teeth or having our morning coffee. These automatic behaviors relieve the brain and reduce stress in parts of our daily lives.\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-d93a7fb elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"d93a7fb\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Especially around the turn of the year, people resolve to start new and healthy habits.<\/p><p data-start=\"545\" data-end=\"721\">But even though we know what would be good for us, we often find it difficult to truly establish new routines.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-ccc27ea elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"ccc27ea\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p data-start=\"728\" data-end=\"870\">As an interior designer in the Zurich area, I know that the problem is not motivation, but the environment.<\/p><p data-start=\"877\" data-end=\"997\">Spaces influence our behavior more than we consciously perceive, and this is precisely where enormous potential lies.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-c36dd60 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"c36dd60\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p data-start=\"1043\" data-end=\"1177\">Many people try to change their habits through discipline. But discipline is limited and rarely works in the long term.<\/p><p data-start=\"1184\" data-end=\"1328\">New routines often fail not because of a lack of will, but because of the structure of everyday life, which is largely shaped by our environment.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-4b0797c elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"4b0797c\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p data-start=\"1428\" data-end=\"1527\">Our environment is therefore one of the most powerful levers when it comes to changing habits.<\/p><p data-start=\"1534\" data-end=\"1623\">How we design spaces directly influences how we behave. However, this varies widely from person to person and can take much longer.
