My Interior Design
Natural colors and materials play a major role in my designs. My style is not loud, but characterized by a harmonious balance. My interior design is not just about aesthetics, but about a multisensory spatial experience.
I am convinced that we can do a great deal for our health and well-being by designing our environments thoughtfully.
This still has a lasting impact on the way I work as an Interior Architect today.
more about me
My love for craftsmanship was instilled in me from birth. My father ran a heating and plumbing company right on our property in Germany for almost 40 years. As a child, the company was my playground, and as a teenager, I already began designing my own furniture and accessories, which I then built together with my father. It was no surprise that I then began studying interior architecture and during my semester breaks I planned the bathrooms of my father's clients.
After completing my master’s degree in 2011, I moved to Zurich for an internship and was employed full-time within three months. Since then, I’ve been able to gain extensive experience in residential design, office design, retail and healthcare design.
My husband and I also lived in California for over three years. There, in addition to continuing my education in marketing and working as a freelancer, I delved deeper into the topics of health and well-being, which are highly valued in trend-conscious California
Since 2021, I have been working as an interior designer in Switzerland again. My intensive exploration of well-being and mental resilience has profoundly shaped my perspective. Today, I design interiors with even greater intention, clarity, and focus on what truly sustains people in their daily lives.
Lisa is a friendly and competent Interior Architect. After we bought our house in the Zurich Oberland region, she inspected the existing structure and gave us excellent advice on which renovations should be tackled first. She also created a color scheme and a cost estimate for us. Since we are renovating our house in stages, we will continue to rely on her expertise and look forward to everything that lies ahead.
Cay
"When we built our new house, we hired Lisa as an Interior Architect. She places great importance on ensuring that the rooms are tailored to the residents and their needs, and we are very grateful for her valuable work on our beautiful home. I also commissioned her again for the furnishing of my practice and am very happy with the result."

My professional experiences

Master’s degree Interior Architecture
From 2005 to 2011, I studied interior design (Bachelor's and Master's degrees) at the Technical University of Kaiserslautern, Germany. I also worked as a Photoshop tutor and as a mentor in the Ada Lovelace Project, where I taught young students technical drawing and structural analysis.

Studioforma Design
From 2011 to 2015, I worked as an interior designer and later as a team leader at Studioforma in Zurich. In addition to planning store layouts for several retail brands internationally, I was also heavily involved in the complete planning of a new single-family home on Lake Geneva – from the design competition to the completion of the home.

Hauser & Partner AG
From 2015 to 2017, I worked at Hauser & Partner in Dubendorf. There, I oversaw the renovation of a holiday home in the Engadine, from conception through all phases of the SIA. I was also involved in several corporate design projects.

Stay in the USA
From 2017 to 2020, I lived in Los Angeles, USA. There, I worked as a freelancer for design studios and was writing articles for a Swiss company's home blog. From 2018 to 2019, I also studied marketing at the University of California (UCLA Extension), where I graduated with distinction.

Moomii Interior Design
After returning from the USA, I worked as a Senior Project Manager at Moomii Interior Design in Winterthur until mid-2025. There, I oversaw numerous projects across all phases of the SIA process. During my time at Moomii, I was involved in over 25 corporate and residential design projects – from conception to execution.

Teaching
Since January 2025, I have been a lecturer in the HF Communication Design program and the Interior Design Bachelor's program at the Swiss Textile School in Zurich – now in Winterthur. There, I teach the module 'Spatial Identity', which focuses primarily on the design of modern work environments. I also supervise students with their bachelor's theses.

lisannco
In July 2025, I founded my interior design company, lisannco. This fulfilled a long-held dream. At lisannco, people, their well-being, and their resilience are the top priority. To apply my expertise specifically to the places where people spend most of their lives, lisannco focuses on residential and corporate design.
FAQ
Why do you even need an interior architect?
Many people associate interior design with luxury and decoration. However, that's not how I see my profession. As an interior designer, I'm not just a designer, but above all a strategist with a high degree of responsibility. Interior design specializes in interior construction, and accordingly, I manage and oversee both small and large renovation projects.
I develop spaces and floor plans that simplify everyday life and sustainably promote well-being. Thoughtful, clever layouts create efficient workflows that convey a sense of calm. I always think one step ahead, ensuring that today's decisions will still work tomorrow.
Meticulous planning down to the last detail, high-quality materials, and timeless solutions stand for quality and longevity. A clear, visually calm design creates order, a sense of grounding, and long-term added value. At the same time, I oversee the entire renovation process, coordinate all parties involved, maintain an overview, and significantly relieve my clients of the burden. The result is sustainable solutions and satisfied, happy clients for years to come.
Interior Architecture vs. Interior Design
An interior architect, as the name suggests, is an architect specialized in interior spaces. They don't just design the aesthetic appearance, but also take into account functional, technical, economic, and social aspects.
My studies comprised a total of 10 semesters of full-time education at a technical university, covering subjects ranging from building law and technical fit-out to lighting design and spatial aesthetics.
An interior architect is typically qualified to independently manage a complete renovation project.
Not every interior designer is an interior architect. Interior design is more like a sub-discipline of interior architecture. It focuses primarily on the aesthetic aspects of spatial design, such as the placement of furniture and the use of colors and decoration.
Can everyone afford an interior architect?
Admittedly, hiring an interior architect isn’t exactly inexpensive. That’s simply because tasks like research and creating detailed plans are very time-intensive. Still, I want people with smaller budgets to be able to benefit from my services. That’s why I’ve put together a few fixed-price packages that are compact, yet designed to help you head in the right direction. If you have the time to do a bit of research on your own and don’t need complex technical drawings, these offers might be just right for you. You’ll find more information about these packages in my Residential Info Brochure.
I'm already working with an architect. Can I get a second opinion from lisannco on a specific problem?
Yes and it’s free of charge. Send me your plans and describe the challenge you're facing. Then book a video call via the contact page. Why is it free? Because it takes me about an hour, and maybe you’ll decide to work with me afterward. And if not, I’ve still done something helpful for you. In both cases, I’ve created value and that’s my top priority.
Why should I choose lisannco for my project?
My clients appreciate my clarity, my empathy, and the calm I bring to a project. Working with me is based on trust and mutual respect. I believe that a friendly relationship forms the foundation for a successful project. With me, you'll always find a receptive ear, and your wishes are always at the heart of all decisions.
